Women's Golf Finishes Third at Adrian Invitational

ADRIAN, MICH.  --  The Trine University women's golf team placed third overall at the Adrian (Mich.) College Spring Invitational hosted at the Lenawee Country Club in Adrian, Mich.

Trine posted a combined team score of 366 strokes to place third with the duo of sophomore Olivia Phillips (Muncie, Ind./Muncie) and freshman Karlee Fackler (Fort Wayne, Ind./Heritage) both firing rounds of 91 strokes to lead the squad individually and placed in a tie for 11th among the field.

Freshmen Jenna Doumont (Burlington, Ky./Villa Madonna Academy) and Becca Baughman (Lake Orion, Mich./Lutheran Northwest) tied for third on the team, and were tied for 13th overall, with a tournament total of 92 strokes each.

Junior Mackenna Kelly (Angola, Ind./Angola) also finished inside the top-20 in a tie for 16th place after completing the single-round tournament with a score of 93 strokes.

Junior Morgan Barrasas (Hobart, Ind./Hobart) competed as an individual and finished in a tie for 33rd after shooting a round of 114 strokes.

Siena Heights (Mich.) University finished first in the team standings with 336 strokes and host school, Adrian, was second at 359 strokes.

Trine will wrap-up the 2018-19 season with a head-to-head matchup against Albion (Mich.) College in the Trine/Albion Cup that is scheduled to be played tomorrow (Friday, Apr. 19) at Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Ind.  The event is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
