Trine Women's Golf Coach Noah Warren to Also Take Over Men's Program

ANGOLA, IND.  --  Trine University women's head golf coach Noah Warren has been named to take over the men's golf program following the retirement of Bill SanGiacomo and will also remain the head coach of the women's golf team.

Warren took over as head coach of the women's team following the fall 2017 season and helped lead the Thunder to a third place finish this past fall in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association standings and qualified for the four-team MIAA Spring Automatic Qualifier, the first time since the 2016-17 season.  Two players also earned All-MIAA honors, the first Trine All-Conference honorees since 2016-17.

Warren takes over a men's program that saw a successful 2019-20 season in which the Thunder captured their first MIAA team championship since joining the conference.  The team won five of the six events that make up the MIAA Tournament.  The Thunder had five players earn All-MIAA honors, including taking both the conference MVP and Sportsmanship Awards by the same player, the first player in MIAA history to do so.

"I first came to know Trine from attending Hoosier Basketball Camp as a child; never envisioning attending the University and playing four years of varsity golf for Coach SanGiacomo," said Warren.  "Playing for him and working with him for the past 17 years has had a huge impact on me personally and professionally."

"Coach SanGiacomo is a great man, and a legend at Trine," added Warren.  "With big shoes to fill, I couldn't be more excited to follow in his footsteps. We plan to keep the golf program very strong, and look forward to honoring the legacy that he has left behind."

Prior to being named coach of the women's program, Warren held a position at Trine's Zollner Golf Course for 11 years, first as the assistant golf professional and then as the director of golf operations. He is an alumnus of Trine and graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in golf management. Warren was a member of the Trine men's varsity golf team from 2003-07.
