Thunder Tie for Team Championship at Adrian Invitational

ADRIAN, MICH.  --  The Trine University women's golf team finished as co-champions at the Adrian (Mich.) College Fall Invitational at Lenawee Country Club in Adrian, Mich.

Trine finished in a tie with Calvin (Mich.) College with a total of 351 strokes each.  Siena Heights (Mich.) University was third with a score of 353 strokes.

Junior Jenna Doumont (Burlington, Ky./Villa Madonna University) led the way individually for the Thunder with a single-round total of 84 strokes on the par 71, 5,180-yard course layout and placed in a tie for second overall among a field of 42 players.

Sophomore Maire Sullivan (Plymouth, Mich./Plymouth) had the second lowest score on the team at 86 strokes to place in a tie for fifth place.  Senior Olivia Phillips (Muncie, Ind./Muncie) also recorded a top-10 finish with a round of 89 strokes to place eighth.

Junior Karlee Fackler (Fort Wayne, Ind./Heritage) and sophomore Lily Williamson (Colfax, Ind./Western Boone) both carded rounds of 92 strokes to tie for 13th place to round out the eligible individual team scores.

Sophomore Reagan Guthrie (Genoa, Ohio/Genoa Area) competed as an individual and navigated the course with a score of 96 strokes which put her in a tie for 26th.

Trine is slated to travel to East Lansing, Mich. to take part in a second single-day event of the season hosted by Olivet (Mich.) College on Saturday, Sept. 26 at Forest Akers Golf Course.  The round is set to start at 1 p.m.
