Thunder Place Fourth at St. Mary's Invite

GRANGER, IND.  --  The Trine University women's golf team competed in the second Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association event of the spring with a single-round St. Mary's (Ind.) Colllege Invitational at Knollwood Country Club in Granger, Ind.

The Thunder finished with a team score of 328 strokes to place fourth of nine teams.  Hope (Mich.) College won the event with a team total of 312 strokes and was followed by host St. Mary's with a score of 316 strokes.  Calvin (Mich.) University was third at 325 strokes.

Junior Jenna Doumont (Burlington, Ky./Villa Madonna Academy) paced Trine with an 18-hole score of 79 strokes and placed in a tie for sixth overall.  The duo of sophomores Maire Sullivan (Plymouth, Mich./Plymouth) and Lily Williamson (Colfax, Ind./Western Boone) tied for the second lowest scores on the team of 82 strokes and tied for 15th overall among the field.

Senior Olivia Phillips (Muncie, Ind./Muncie) carded a round of 85 strokes and tied for 22nd place and sophomore Reagan Guthrie (Genoa, Ohio/Genoa Area) completed teh list of team elgible scores with a 91.

Trine also had one player compete as an individual in sophomore Anabelle Burkholder (Lima, Ohio/Bath).  Burkholder ended the afternoon with a score of 99 strokes.

The Thunder will travel to Kalamazoo, Mich. to take part in the Kalamazoo College Invitatonal on Saturday, Apr. 3.  The day is set to begin at 1 p.m. at Milham Park Golf Course.
