Women's Golf Ends Season at Calvin Invitational

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH.  --  The Trine University women's golf team placed fourth in the final Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association event of the season at the Calvin (Mich.) University Spring Invitational hosted at the Thornapple Pointe Golf Course in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Trine finished with a team score of 348 strokes to take fourth place.  St. Mary's (Ind.) College finished first with a score of 318 strokes and host Calvin was second at 321 strokes.  Hope (Mich.) College grabbed third wiith a tournament-total of 336 strokes.

Individually, sophomore Maire Sullivan (Plymouth, Mich./Plymouth) led the Thunder with an 18-hole score of 79 strokes and tied for third overall among the field.  Junior Jenna Doumont (Burlington, Ky./Villa Madonna Academy) placed second on the team, and 17th overall, with a score of 85 strokes.

Sophomore Lily Williamson (Colfax, Ind./Western Boone) had the third lowest score on the team of 90 strokes and was followed by senior Olivia Phillips (Muncie, Ind./Muncie) with a round of 94 strokes.

Sophomore Reagan Guthrie (Genoa, Ohio/Genoa Area) completed the list of team eligible scores with a tournament-total of 96 strokes.

Sophomore Annabelle Burkholder (Lima, Ohio/Bath) played as an individual for Trine and turned in a scorecard of 97 strokes to round out the field for the Thunder

Overall, in five MIAA events, the Thunder finished with a cumulative 1,733 total strokes to finish fourth in the conference.
