Thunder Women Fourth Halfway Through the IU-East Fall Invite

RICHMOND, Ind. – In their second event of the 2021 fall, the Trine University women's golf program made the trip to Highland Lake Golf Course to take part in the Indiana University – East Fall Invite. After round one, the Thunder are fourth out of six participating teams with a 344.

Marian University is the clubhouse leader with a score of 307, just four strokes ahead of the host institution, IU-East.

Freshman Grace Dubec [Fishers, Ind. / Hamilton Southeastern] led the Thunder with an 83 and is tied for 13th overall. Dubec started her round on the par-5 17th hole and converted a birdie.

Maire Sullivan [Plymouth, Mich. / Plymouth], who is fresh of an individual victory at the Trine Women's Invite, put up an 86 on day one of the tournament and is tied for 18th.

Sullivan is tied with her teammate, Reagan Guthrie [Genoa, Ohio / Genoa Area], who also shot an 86 on Friday. Guthrie sank a birdie on the par-4 12th hole to highlight her round.

Lily Williamson [Colfax, Ind. / Western Boone] and Carli Sanford [Howe, Ind. / Sturgis] were also scoring members for Trine on the afternoon. Williamson shot an 89, while Sanford wrapped up play with a 92.

Competing as an individual, freshman Bailey Bravata [Holland, Mich. / Zeeland East] scored an 88 in her first appearance away from her home course.

The two-day, 36-hole tournament continues tomorrow morning in Richmond, Indiana.
