Action Concludes at Highland Lake for Women's Golf

RICHMOND, Ind. – The Trine University women's golf team wrapped up play on Saturday in the 36-hole Indiana University-East Fall Invite. The Thunder women placed fifth with a team score of 687.

Host IU-East took the tournament trophy by one stroke over the clubhouse leaders through day one, Marian University.

Leading the way for Trine was Grace Dubec [Fishers, Ind. / Hamilton Southeastern] with a two-day 170 (83-87). She hit for par on four consecutive holes to finish out her front nine.

Reagan Guthrie [Genoa, Ohio / Genoa Area] was one-stroke back of Dubec after shooting a 171 (86-85). Guthrie finished strong and hit for par on her last four holes of the afternoon.

Junior Lily Williamson [Colfax, Ind. / Western Boone] had the lowest second round score for the Thunder with an 83. Williamson led the team in pars (10) on Saturday on her way to a two-day total of 172 (89-83).

Maire Sullivan [Plymouth, Mich. / Plymouth] wrapped up play at 174 (86-88). Sullivan totaled eight pars in round two.

The lone birdie for Trine came off the club of Carli Sanford [Howe, Ind. / Sturgis]. After teeing off on hole nine, Sanford scored a three on the par-4 10th en route to a 181 (92-89).

Trine's individual participant Bailey Bravata [Holland, Mich. / Zeeland East] shot a 178 (90-88) to close her first 36-hole event.

Up next for the Trine women's golf team is the Aquinas College Invite at Kaufman Golf Course in Wyoming, Michigan. Tee off is the morning of September 8.
