Thunder Place Eighth at Kyle Campbell Invite

MARSHALL, Mich. – The Trine University women's golf team concluded the Kyle Campbell Invite on Saturday afternoon and placed eighth in the event at a team 696 for 36 holes.

Hope College was able to snag the team victory out of the 16 participating squads.

Maire Sullivan [Plymouth, Mich. / Plymouth] and Grace Dubec [Fishers, Ind. / Hamilton Southeastern] tied with a total score of 170. Sullivan (86-84) was able to secure a birdie on the par-4 5th hole, while Dubec (81-89) did the same on the par-5 9th. Sullivan collected a team-high seven pars.

The lowest Trine score of the day belonged to Carli Sanford [Howe, Ind. / Sturgis]. Sanford finished play with a 173 (90-83) overall and sent home a birdie on the par-4 6th.

Lily Williamson [Colfax, Ind. / Western Boone] was able to improve upon her day one score by four strokes by shooting a 182 (93-89) overall.

The biggest round-to-round improvement was from Bailey Bravata [Holland, Mich. / Zeeland East] with a 189 (98-91). The freshman continues to gain valuable experience on the course through playing 36 holes at the collegiate level.

The Thunder kick-off conference play in their next event, the first MIAA Jamboree at Albion on September 14.
