Trine Women's Golf Finishes Third at Hope

SAUGATUCK, Mich. – The Trine University women's golf team placed third at the MIAA Jamboree event at Clearbrook Golf Course on Tuesday afternoon with a team score of 342.

Winning the event was the host institution, Hope College, with a score of 328. Grace VanDellen from Hope was the individual champion with a 78.

After three conference events, the Trine women are in fifth place in the conference standings.

Grace Dubec [Fishers, Ind. / Hamilton Southeastern] had the lowest score for the Trine women with an 83. Dubec tied for seventh and started her day with a birdie on hole one.

Maire Sullivan [Plymouth, Mich. / Plymouth] scored an 85 and tied with Carli Sanford [Howe, Ind. / Sturgis]. Sullivan matched Dubec with a pair of birdies in her round. Sanford had one birdie and seven pars, the most shots at par or lower for the Thunder.

Lily Williamson [Colfax, Ind. / Western Boone] finished with a score of 89 on Tuesday and Bailey Bravata [Holland, Mich. / Zeeland East] rounded out the Thunder lineup with a 94.  

The individual competitors for Trine were Reagan Guthrie [Genoa, Ohio / Genoa Area] and Caroline Boyd [Logansport, Ind. / Logansport]. Guthrie finished with a 95 and Boyd a 99.

The next event on the Trine women's golf calendar is the MIAA Jamboree at Thornapple Point Golf Course, hosted by Calvin University on October 2. Tee time is at 2 pm.
