Thunder Place Fourth in Trine Spring Classic

ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University women's golf team placed fourth in their home match, the Trine Spring Classic, on Saturday afternoon with a team score of 350.

Hope College were the team champions at Zollner Golf Course at 322, with Calvin University (331) and Kalamazoo College (340) in tow.

The team's lone senior Becca Baughman [Lake Orion, Mich. / Lutheran Northwest] was honored following today's event.

Junior Maire Sullivan [Plymouth, Mich. / Plymouth] was the low-scorer for the Thunder with an 84. She birdied the par-3 2nd hole en route to an 11th place finish. One stroke back was classmate Reagan Guthrie [Genoa, Ohio / Genoa Area] with an 85, good for 13th.

Grace Dubec [Fishers, Ind. / Hamilton Southeastern] scored an 87 to put the freshman in the top-15. Lily Williamson [Colfax, Ind. / Western Boone] wrapped up her round at 94 and Carli Sanford [Howe, Ind. / Sturgis] fired a 97 for the fourth-place squad.

Kelly Miller [Bryan, Ohio / Bryan], Gabby Kelly [Angola, Ind. / Angola] and Anabelle Burkholder [Lima, Ohio / Bath] finished at 96, 99 and 99 on Saturday, while Bailey Bravata [Holland, Mich. / Zeeland East] and Caroline Boyd [Logansport, Ind. / Logansport] secured scores of 101 and 108.

The freshmen quad of Ava Dobbins [Barberton, Ohio / Archbishop Hoban], Morgan Calhoun [Edinburg, Ind. / Edinburg], Lucia Rodriguez [Archbold, Ohio / Archbold] and Gianna Everett [Bronson, Mich. / Bronson] were also in action Saturday at 106, 108, 109 and 117.

The Trine women's golf team hits the course again on Monday, April 11 for the Trine/Albion Cup at Battle Creek Country Club.
