Trine in the Mix After First Round at Franklin

FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Trine University women's golf team took to the course on Saturday for round one of the Franklin Lady Grizzly Spring Tournament at The Legends Golf Club. The Thunder sit third on the leaderboard at the midway point of the competition.

Transylvania sits atop the leaderboard at 334 while the Thunder are third with a team score of 355.

Maire Sullivan [Plymouth, Mich. / Plymouth] was the low scorer for Trine at 85. She birdied hole five and secured an eagle on the par-4 14th hole. Reagan Guthrie [Genoa, Ohio / Genoa Area] was just behind at an 87. The junior hit for par on eight holes, including six on the back nine.

Carli Sanford [Howe, Ind. / Sturgis] was next after carding a 90 on Saturday. She hit for birdie on the par-3 16th hole. Lily Williamson [Colfax, Ind. / Western Boone] and Grace Dubec [Fishers, Ind. / Hamilton Southeastern] hit dueling 93's.

Competing as an individual, Bailey Bravata [Holland, Mich. / Zeeland East] hit a 90 and is inside the top-10 after the first round.

The event continues on Sunday, April 24 for the second and final round at The Legends Club. The women take to the tees beginning at 11 am.
