Women's Golf Rebounds at MIAA Jamboree #2

TECUMSEH, Mich. – The Trine University women's golf team had a solid bounce back performance in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Jamboree #2 at Tecumseh Golf Club. The Thunder scored a third-place finish in the event and sophomore Grace Dubec tallied a podium finish as an individual after tying for third overall.

The host institution Adrian College were the team champions with a score of 316. Saint Mary's College was second at 330 and Trine wrapped up play with a total of 339.

Dubec scored a 6-over 78 to lead the Thunder on the afternoon. Her round was highlighted by two birdies and a string of eight pars out of nine holes from 5-13. She was just one stroke off of entering a tie with Calvin's Chandler Sjoerdsma and Adrian's Olivia Ohmer for the lowest score at the event.

Máire Sullivan tied for 13th place on the player leaderboard after shooting an 84. After starting on hole 10, she had five pars in the first seven holes to get off to a good start to her round. Bailey Bravata fired an 88 on Wednesday in a round that included a birdie on the par-4 ninth hole.

Caroline Boyd and Reagan Guthrie tied for the final scoring spot with a pair of 89s on their scorecards. Boyd had five pars and Guthrie four. Also in action for Trine was freshman Calley Ruff. She shot a 97 competing as an individual.

The conference season is in full swing now, with the third MIAA Jamboree taking place on Saturday, September 24th at 1 pm. Alma College will host action at Pine River Country Club.
