Women's Golf Drops Dual to Hope College

SAUGATUCK, Mich. – The Trine University women's golf team took the course for the first time this spring at Clearbrook Golf Club. The Thunder took on Hope College head-to-head in a dual match and were defeated 341-350.

Senior Máire Sullivan had the lowest scorecard on the day with an 84. She had a team-high seven pars in her round, including four in a row to begin the back nine. One stroke back of Sullivan was sophomore Grace Dubec. She had four straight pars as well from holes 5-9. The duo placed third and fourth overall.

Freshman Calley Ruff had pars on both par-5 holes on the front nine en route to a score of 90. Senior Reagan Guthrie turned in a 91 and accomplished the same feat on the long front nine holes. The final team member was sophomore Bailey Bravata with a 98.  

Five individual golfers also teed off at Clearbrook. Freshman Grace Thiele (91) led the group consisting of sophomore Caroline Boyd (93), senior Anabelle Burkholder (99), freshman Payton Ault (100) and freshman Sophie Argyle (112).

The team competes at home on Saturday, April 1 for the Trine Spring Classic at Zollner Golf Course. Action begins at 1 p.m.
