Thunder Go Back-to-Back on Second-Place Team Finishes

PORTAGE, Mich. – The Trine University women's golf team scored a second-place finish in back-to-back events after scoring runner-up at the Steven Tyler Memorial at The Moors Golf Club.

The team was led by senior Reagan Guthrie, who finished in a tie for second with a score of 83. Guthrie was steady at the start of her round with pars on five of the first six holes on the course. She tallied a birdie on the par-4 11th hole before struggling a tad on the course's final holes.

Senior Máire Sullivan and sophomore Grace Dubec had dueling scores of 86 on Monday afternoon to tie for fourth. Each of them had a birdie on a par-3 hole – for Sullivan it came on hole 15 and Dubec, hole 8. Freshman Calley Ruff and sophomore Bailey Bravata rounded out scoring members with a 95 (T-20th) and 96 (T-23rd).

Trine's "B" team was also in action at the event and placed seventh. Freshman Grace Thiele had the lowest score for that group with a 93.

In one week, the women's golf team will take the course at Marshall Country Club for the Albion Spring Invitational on Monday, April 17.
