Women's Golf Places Second at Adrian Spring Invitational

TECUMSEH, Mich. – At the Adrian Spring Invitational, the Trine University women's golf team were runners up, with a team score of 334. The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) representative to the NCAA Championships and host institution Adrian University Bulldogs won the event with a combined 306.

Máire Sullivan was fourth-place on the leaderboard with a score of 78. She tallied a birdie on the 17th hole, a par-4, and was 1-over through the front nine with eight pars. Just outside the top-10 was Grace Dubec. She carded an 83 to finish in a tie for 11th with a birdie on the par-4 hole 12 and 10 total pars.

Caroline Boyd overcame a slow start to place 14th overall with a score of 85. She started her round on the 17th hole and settled into a groove when she got to hole nine. Boyd went 1-over on holes 10-16 to wrap up her scorecard on a high note. Calley Ruff totaled 88 to tie for 19th. Ruff had a birdie on the par-3 13th hole. Bailey Bravata was the final scoring member for the team and finished with a 108. She hit for birdie on the par-3 fourth hole.

All 14 student-athletes were in action and some of them also had impressive scores at Tecumseh Golf Club. Grace Thiele paced the group with an 87 and Payton Ault was just behind with an 88. Sophie Argyle and Anabelle Burkholder also had quality scorecards with a 92 and 93.

The final event of the spring season will be the Trine Spring Classic at Zollner Golf Course. The Thunder will be at home on Saturday, April 29 beginning at 2 p.m.
