Women's Golf Finishes Tenth

LIMA, Ohio – The Trine University women's golf team completed the Polar Beaver Classic with a tenth-place finish.

The team posted a 75 over par for the day to finish the event at 138 over par. They finished with 714 strokes for the two-day event, 58 strokes better than the 11th placed Baldwin Wallace University. One half of the co-host institutions, Ohio Northern University, won the event with 644 strokes.

Grace Dubec led the way for the Thunder both on the day and for the weekend. Today she posted a score of 84 for a total of 167 for the weekend. She finished tied for 18th as an individual. Grace Thiele finished second on the team with 91 strokes for a total of 179, she tied for 41st overall. Mae Norman rounded out the top-three scoring 93 on the day for 181 total.

Caroline Boyd and Bailey Bravata tied during the second round, both totaling 95 strokes, but Boyd had the edge in the tournament with a total of 187 to Bravata's 189. Calley Ruff competed as an individual for the team and finished in sole possession of 40th on the weekend with 178 strokes.

The Thunder are next scheduled to head to the links when they travel to the Cascades Golf Course in Jackson, Mich. for the recently rescheduled Brit-Thunder Cup on Monday, April 8. The event is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m.
