ANGOLA, IND. – The Trine women's hockey team took care of business against Davenport University's ACHA team in tonight's exhibition game by the score of 5-1.

The Thunder started the scoring in the ninth minute of the first period when freshman forward Sierra Westner (Saginaw, Mich.) took a shot from the blue-line that bounced off of a few defenders before finding its way into the back of the net. Sophomore forward Sydney Hernalsteen (Macomb, Mich.) added the helper on the goal.

Trine would score its second goal in the 16th minute of the same period, taking advantage of their lone power play opportunity of the game. Hernalsteen was the goal scorer, while freshman defender Kailey Cameron (Nowthen, Minn.) added the assist.

The Panthers would add their lone goal of the game to the scoreboard just a minute later and the teams would enter the first intermission with Trine in the lead 2-1.

In the second period freshman forward Eryn Isaacson (Fenton, Mich.) went on a hot streak scoring her two goals of the game. Her first came unassisted in the fifth minute of the period. The second came in the 11th minute and was assisted by Westner and freshman forward Emily Moore (London, Ontario).

The lone goal of the third period came from freshman forward Sula Argyris (Woodhaven, Mich.) and was another unassisted tally.

Freshman Ryan Harth (Medinah, Ill.) got the start for the Thunder in goal and played the entire game for the team. She finished the night with 19 saves surrendering only the lone goal.

With the victory Trine enters their midseason break and will not return to the ice until 2018. They will face off with Chatham University in a pair of games on Friday, Jan. 5 and Saturday Jan. 6.
