Trine Women's Hockey Beaten by St. Norbert in Home Finale

ANGOLA, IND.  --  The Trine University women's hockey team was defeated by St. Norbert College, 7-0, in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association matchup and the season home finale at the Thunder Ice Arena.

St. Norbert (8-10-3, 8-4-2 NCHA) scored two goals in the first period with the first tally coming at the 11:16 minute mark.  The Green Knights found the back of the net again a little over three minutes later at the 14:32 mark to lead, 2-0, heading into the first intermission.

SNC padded its lead with a pair of additional goals in the second period and then kept the offense going with three scores in the third period to round out the scoring and cruise to the 7-0 final.

Trine (4-13-1, 2-12-0 NCHA) put 17 shots on net in the game with freshman Emily Moore (London, Ont./Bluewater Hawks) taking a team-high five shots.  Freshman Kailey Cameron (Nowthen, Minn.) was second with three shots and the trio of freshman Sierra Westner (Saginaw, Mich.), sophomore Katie Plyer (Layton, Utah) and freshman Sula Argyris (Woodhaven, Mich.) all added two shots on goal, but none of the Thunder shots got by the SNC netminder.

Sophomore goalkeeper Molly Scarborough (Ramsey, Minn.) played the entire game in net for the Thunder, stopping 31 shots in 60 minutes of action.

Trine will wrap-up its inaugural season on the road with a pair of two-game series beginning with a matchup against the College of St. Scholastica with the first game slated for Friday, Feb. 9 in Duluth, Minn.  The game is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
