DULUTH, MINN. -- The Trine women's NCAA hockey team was defeated by the College of St. Scholastica by a score of 7-1.

The Thunder struggled from the beginning of the game giving up three goals in each of the first two periods to fall behind 6-0 entering the third period.

The Saints notched their seventh goal in the tenth minute of the third period on the powerplay.

Trine scored their lone goal of the contest a minute later. The Thunder were able to pull their goalie for an extra attacker off a delayed penalty on St. Scholastica. They took advantage of the opportunity when freshman Sula Argyris (Woodhaven, Mich.) scored her fourth goal of the season. Freshman forward Olivia Coyne (Allison Park, Pa.) came away with her team-high sixth assists of the season on the goal.

The goal would be the final of the contest and Trine would fall to the St. Scholastica by the score of 7-1.

The Thunder fall to 4-14-1 overall and 2-13 in the NCHA after the loss. They face off with the Saints again tomorrow, February 10, at 5 p.m.
