DULUTH, MINN. – The Trine women's hockey team were defeated by the College of St. Scholastica today, by the score of 3-1.

The Saints built an early lead scoring a goal in each of the first two periods to take a 2-0 margin into the third period.

In the eighth minute of the final period the Thunder found themselves up a skater following a roughing penalty on St. Scholastica. They took advantage just 40 seconds into the power-play when freshman defender Kailey Cameron (Nowthen, Minn.) scored her fifth goal of the season. Freshman forward Olivia Coyne (Allison Park, Pa.) added to her team-high assists total on the goal which pulled Trine within one of the opposition at 2-1.

The Thunder were unable to score again, while the Saints added a late power-play goal to come away with the 3-1 victory.

Freshman Ryan Harth (Medinah, Ill.) got just her third start of the season and played well in net despite giving up the three goals. She finished the contest with 34 saves.

The Thunder fall to 4-15-1 and 2-14-0 in the NCHA after the contest. Trine will finish off their season when they travel to face Concordia University (Wis.) for a pair of NCHA contests. The first will take place Friday, February 16, at 6 p.m.
