Women's Hockey Defeated by Adrian

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Trine University women's hockey team was defeated by host Adrian College today. The nationally-ranked Bulldogs came away with the 3-0 win over the Thunder.

Adrian took the lead in the 11th minute of the contest and added to it less than a minute later to finish the first period with the 2-0 lead. They would add another goal in the second for their final 3-0 lead.

Freshman Anna Cvitkovich (Olmsted, Ohio) received the start in net for the game and came away with 46 saves and turning in a shutout third period.

Offensively, sophomore Olivia Coyne (Allison Park, Pa.) led the team with four shots, while Sierra Westner (Saginaw, Mich.) came in second with three.

The Thunder fall to 3-3 overall and 2-2 in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) following the loss. They will look to bounce back when they host Marian University for a pair of games. The first comes on Friday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m.
