Thunder Tie Host St. Norbert

DE PERE, Wis. -- The Trine University women's hockey team came away with a 1-1 tie with host St. Norbert College after 65 minutes of hockey was not enough to determine a victory.

The Green Knights took the first lead of the contest in the final minute of the first period. The lone goal of the opening stanza gave St. Norbert the 1-0 lead heading into the first intermission.

The Thunder knotted the game in the 12th minute of the second period. Sophomore Kailey Cameron (Nowthen, Minn.) scored the power-play goal with classmate Eryn Isaacson (Fenton, Mich.) adding the assist.

Both teams' goalies buckled down for the final period and overtime turning aside the rest of the shots in the contest and the teams ended the contest in a 1-1 tie.

Junior Molly Scarborough (Ramsey, Minn.) finished the contest with the decision and 30 saves, 24 of which came in the scoreless final three periods.

Trine finishes the night with a 7-9-2 overall record and a 5-6-2 record in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association. They will take on St. Norbert again tomorrow, Feb. 2 at 4 p.m EST.
