Women's Hockey Takes Second Game Against St. Norbert

DE PERE, Wis. -- After finishing the first game of the weekend in a tie with host St. Norbert College, the Trine University women's hockey team came away with a win today by the score of 3-1. Sophomore Sula Argyris led the way for the Thunder in the contest finishing with two goals and one assist.

Freshman Theresa DiMaggio (Shelby Township, Mich.) came away with the lone goal of the first period giving the Thunder the 1-0 lead as they headed into the first intermission. Argyris added her lone assist of the contest on the goal.

St. Norbert evened the game at one in the 13th minute of the second period with their lone goal of the contest.

Then Argyris put the Thunder in the lead for the final time with two goals in the second period separated by just four minutes of play. The first came in the 15th minute of the stanza with an assist from DiMaggio. In the 19th minute, Argyris added a power-play goal with Kirsten Vandenheuvel (Denfield, Ontario) adding the assist.

Trine would shut out the Green Knights in the final period and returned home with the 3-1 victory.

Junior Molly Scarborough (Ramsey, Minn.) got the start in net for the Thunder and finished the contest with 32 saves and the win.

Trine improves to 8-9-2 overall and 6-6-2 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) play. They will return home to host Northland College for another NCHA doubleheader starting with a game on Friday, Feb. 8 at 7 p.m.
