LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Host Lake Forest College was too much for the Trine University women's hockey team as they lost today by the score of 5-0.
The Thunder turned in their best period in the first keeping the opposition off the board behind strong play from junior netminder Molly Scarborough (Ramsey, Minn.) who turned aside all 13 of the Foresters shots.
Lake Forest would pull away through the rest of the contest scoring two goals in the second and three in the third to finish with the 5-0 victory.
Scarborough finished the game with 38 saves despite the five goals and the loss.
The loss eliminates the Thunder from Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) Slaats Cup Playoff contention. They finish just their second season with a 10-13-2 overall record having finished fourth in the conference.
