St. Scholastica Too Much for Women's Hockey

DULUTH, Minn. -- The Trine University women's hockey team outshot their hosts from the College of St. Scholastica but came up short in the contest losing 2-0. The Thunder would finish the contest with 48 shots on goal to the Saints' 14.

A twenty-second span in the second period saw St. Scholastica come up with two goals, which would be enough behind a strong performance in the defensive end. The Thunder would drop the contest 2-0.

Junior Kirsten Vandenheuvel (Denfield Ontario) and sophomore Brandi Wilson (Fenton, Mich.) paced the Thunder each recording seven shots.

Trine falls to 7-6-3 overall and 3-5-1 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play following the loss. They will face off with St. Scholastica again tomorrow, Saturday, Jan. 25. Opening puck drop is scheduled for 2 p.m. CST.
