Trine Voted Sixth in NCHA Women's Hockey Preseason Coaches Poll

DULUTH, Minn. – The Trine University women's hockey team was selected to finish sixth in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) preseason coaches poll.

Adrian College was voted to top the league standings with 64 total points and eight first-place votes.

Tom Hofman, in his fifth season as Trine head coach, is entering the 2021-22 season off the back of a 4-11 campaign. The Thunder were 2-6 in conference play and had a first-round exit in the Slaats Cup Playoffs.

Michelle Byker [Gurnee, Ill.] returns for her second season on the ice after tying for the team-lead in goals scored last season. Abbie Bost [Chelsea, Mich.] and Emily Nettesheim [Hartland, Wis.], who split time in net, are both back for the Thunder as well.

Women's hockey kicks off their season inside Thunder Ice Arena on Friday, October 29 against Stevenson University at 7 pm.
