Women's Hockey Falls to Bulldogs

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Trine University women's hockey team was outmatched by nationally-ranked Adrian College falling on the road 7-1.

The Bulldogs, who were ranked ninth in the latest USCHO.com national poll, struck first in the contest taking a 1-0 lead in the seventh minute of play. The increased the lead in the 15th minute with a shorthanded goal.

The Thunder finally broke up the shutout in the 16th minute when senior Brandi Wilson (Fenton, Mich.) tallied her fourth goal of the season. Sophomores Taryn Raisanen (White Lake, Mich.) and Michelle Byker (Gurnee, Ill.) both added assists on the goal.

Adrian would score the final five goals of the game with one more in the first and two in both the second and third periods to build the 7-1 lead.

Trine falls to 1-6 overall and 0-3 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) play. The two teams will finish off the weekend when they face off in Angola tomorrow, Sunday, Nov. 21 at 6:30 p.m.
