Frank Sets Record in 5-0 Loss at Adrian

ADRIAN, Mich. – Freshman Casey Frank notched a new program single game save record turning aside 70 shots, but the Trine University women's hockey team dropped their contest against nationally-ranked Adrian College by the score of 5-0.

Frank was under fire from the opening whistle, facing 34 shots in just the first period. The Thunder defense was there to add the assist allowing just one goal in the period. The team also killed off three power-plays during the period. The lone Bulldog goal during the period came at even strength in the 15th minute of the period.

Adrian recorded 20 more shots on goal in the second, scoring two goals including cashing in on one of their power play opportunities and another even strength goal. The third period went much the same with the Bulldogs recording 21 shots and scoring two more goals to build their lead to the final 5-0 score.

Junior Grace Hicks led the offense for the Thunder, recording three shots on goal in the contest.

The team falls to 0-5-0 overall and 0-3-0 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) play following the loss. They will host Adrian for the second half of the weekend doubleheader tomorrow, Saturday, November 18. Opening puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m.
