Thunder Struggle with Spartans

GENEVA, Ill. -- The Trine University women's hockey team struggled with their hosts from Aurora University, falling by the score of 9-0 in a non-conference game.

The Spartans began their onslaught in the first period recording a pair of goals to take a 2-0 lead into the intermission. They added three in the second and four in the third to finish the contest with the 9-0 score.

Senior Marie Dedert played the game in net for the Thunder and finished the game with 37 saves.

Offensively, sophomore Kailey Mleko led the way for the team recording six shots on goal in the contest. Junior Taryn Raisanen finished second with three.

Trine falls to 0-7-0 following the loss. The team will look to bounce back when they return home for their next contest on Friday, December 2. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Thunder Ice Arena.
