Another Lopsided Victory for Women's Hockey in New York

WEST SENECA, N.Y. – For the second day in a row, the Trine University women's hockey team posted a lopsided victory against their hosts from Hilbert College. Sophomores Ellie Warhoftig and Payton Hans both recorded hat tricks in the 11-0 win.

Warhoftig led the team with five points in the contest, including a record-tying four goals. She joins just one other Thunder skater to record four goals in a single game. Hans finished today's game with her second straight hat trick on three goals.

Three other Trine skaters recorded four points in the contest. Junior Madison Toor posted a goal and three assists in the game, while senior Makena Thompson and freshman Aleah Bienek both finished with four assists. Those assists tallies tie the new individual game record set by Hans last night.

Hans and Warhoftig both scored goals late in the first period to give the Thunder a 2-0 lead heading into the first intermission.

The pair were joined by Toor and sophomore Kailey Mleko all scored in the second period to build that lead to 6-0 for the second intermission.

Warhoftig scored a pair and Hans added one in the third to finish off their hat trick days. Mleko scored a second for the day and junior Grace Hicks finished off the scoring with a goal in the final minute of play to give the team an 11-0 win.

Freshman Kara Boassaly received the first start of her career. She saw limited action but finished the win with four saves.
