Women's Hockey Felled by Foresters

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The Trine University women's hockey team finished off their penultimate regular season weekend with an 8-0 loss to their hosts from Lake Forest College.

The Foresters came out firing on all cylinders scoring four goals in the first period to take a commanding 4-0 lead into the first intermission. They added two goals in each of the final two periods to finish off the victory.

Offensively the Thunder struggled to find any purchase, they finished the game with 18 shots. Sophomore Payton Hans led the way for the team with four shots.

In goal, freshman Casey Frank once again faced an onslaught and held up reasonably well despite the final result. She made 52 saves in the contest.

Trine falls to 8-14-0 overall and 4-10-0 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) play. They will finish off the regular season next weekend with two games against Lawrence University. The first half of the doubleheader is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday, February 17.
