Frank Named to NCHA All-Freshman Team

DULUTH, Minn. – Freshman Casey Frank has been named to the 2022-23 Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) All-Freshman Team. She becomes the third student-athlete in the program's short history to earn the distinction.

Frank solidified herself as the number one option in net beginning in January and played the majority of the NCHA slate of contests. She finished the year with a 3.54 goals-against average a 9.12 save percentage and 739 saves. She breaks the program record for a single season with the total while also amassing the sixth-best save percentage.

During conference play she finished leading NCHA competition with 561 saves while also posting a .914 save percentage and a 3.79 goals-against average. During a game against Adrian College, the eventual regular season champions, she broke the program record with 70 saves in a single game.

The Thunder finished a tumultuous season with a 10-17 overall record, while going 6-10 in NCHA play. They finished the regular season in sixth-place in the conference table before being defeated in the opening round of the Slaats Cup Playoffs.
