St. Norbert Defeats Women's Hockey

DE PERE, Wis. – The Trine University women's hockey team were blanked by their hosts from St. Norbert College, dropping the game 5-0.

The Green Knights scored twice in the final minutes of the first period to take a 2-0 lead into the first intermission. The first and eventual game winning goal came at the in the 15th minute of the period.

The Thunder defense stood tall in the second period, with Ella Park leading the effort in net. The freshman made 23 of her 46 saves in the stanza as Trine held the home side scoreless. It was also the best period for the team on the other end of the ice, as they recorded a game-high seven shots.

St. Norbert iced the game with three goals in the third, the first coming in the eighth minute, securing the victory at 5-0.

Offensively, Kailey Mleko and Taryn Raisanen each finished the game with three shots on goal for Trine.

The Thunder fall to 0-5-0 overall and 0-3-0 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) play following the loss. They will look to bounce back in their second game against the Green Knights, which is scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 11 at 4 p.m. ET / 3 p.m. CT.
