Bulldogs Defeat Women's Hockey

TOLEDO, Ohio – Nationally ranked Adrian College was too much for the Trine University women's hockey team, as they return home with a 6-1 loss.

The game was played on neutral ice with both teams traveling to the Huntington Center in Toledo, Ohio. It is the second time in three years that the two teams have met in the Glass City with Adrian coming out on top on both occasions.

The Bulldogs opened the scoring in the 12th minute of play, before following up with a second goal as time expired to take a 2-0 lead into the first intermission. They added two more in the first six minutes of the second to build the lead to 4-0.

The Thunder got on the board for themselves in the 17th minute. After clearing the defensive zone and leaving the puck near center ice. Adrian ran their offense back into their own defensive zone before passing it up the ice. Hannah Lambers was able to intercept the pass and skate to the far faceoff circle before threading a shot by the defender and goalie.

The Bulldogs scored the final two of the game to finish the game with the 6-1 score. Despite the lopsided final score, Ella Park held up well in net. She finished the game with 67 saves.

Trine falls to 4-13-0 overall following the loss. The team is set to return to Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) play in their next competition. They are set to travel to Aurora University for a pair of games, beginning at 8 p.m. ET on Friday, January 19.
