Thunder Force Overtime in Final Game of Season

DE PERE, Wis. – Payton Hans scored two goals in 30 seconds and the Trine University women's hockey team forced overtime, but the second seeded team from St. Norbert College scored the game winner. The 3-2 overtime loss eliminates the seven-seeded Thunder from the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) Slaats Cup Playoffs.

The Knights scored the first and only goal of the first period and then scored again in the opening minute of the second to build a 2-0 lead.

It was in the third minute of the second period that Hans went on her run, scoring back-to-back goals to tie the game. Both Dorka Gengeliczky and Kailey Mleko tallied assists on the goals.

After a scoreless third period, the two teams headed to overtime where St. Norbert scored the final goal in the fourth minute.

Trine finishes the season with a 6-20-1 record.
