ROYAL, OAK, Mich. - The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) has named Trine University women’s lacrosse sophomore goalie Grace Garrett (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) its first ever Defensive Player of the Year. Garrett, along with senior Emily Canepa (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West) were named to the All-MIAA First Team after the conference’s first season of play.
HOLLAND, Mich. - It was a tough end to the season for the Trine University women’s lacrosse team as they battled back to send their game into overtime against Hope College, but fell 12-11. The loss eliminates the Thunder from qualifying for the first MIAA Tournament as they end their season 5-6 overall and 2-4 in the MIAA.
ANGOLA, Ind. - It was the perfect way for the Trine University women’s lacrosse to end their home season as they got revenge on Olivet College for an earlier loss in the season, defeating the Comets 8-6. The win improves the Thunder to 5-5 on the year and 2-3 in the MIAA, moving them into a tie for fourth place in the conference standings.
