Thunder Picked to Finish Seventh in MIAA

ROYAL OAK, MICH.-- Trine's women's lacrosse was picked to finish seventh in the MIAA in the league's preseason poll, which was released Wednesday.

The Thunder received 49 points based on the voting in the poll. Trine concluded last season 5-6 and won three of their final four. The Thunder finished 2-4 in the MIAA and narrowly missed a berth in the MIAA Tournament. Reigning-MIAA champion Adrian was picked to win the league and garnered seven of a possible nine first-place votes.

Trine returns MIAA Defensive Player of the Year Grace Garrett (Carmel, Ind./Carmel). The junior tied for the league lead with 10.17 saves per game last season. She added 35 ground balls and 14 caused turnovers.

Trine will open the regular-season Sunday, Mar. 9 when they host Allegheny at 2:00 p.m. in Fred Zollner Athletic Stadium.
