CINCINNATI, OHIO-- The Trine women's lacrosse team fell to the College of Mount St. Joseph 18-3 in non-conference action Sunday afternoon at Schueler Field.
The Lions scored the first six goals and outshot the Thunder 43-10. Samantha Hughes scored five goals and added an assist, while Chrissy O'Hara added three goals and five assists. Taylor Gast (Akron, Ind./Tippecanoe Valley) scored two goals and notched a ground ball and two draw controls to lead Trine. Ryleigh Gordon (Okemos, Mich./Okemos) scored her first-career goal for the Thunder. Trine falls to 0-2 on the season. The Lions improve to 3-5 overall.
Grace Garrett (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) made 17 saves in net for Trine. She added a team-high eight ground balls. Anne Mammel (Tecumseh, Mich./Tecumseh) added an assist.
Nicole Sifri, Maggie Frommling and Holly Hubble each added two goals for the Lions.
Trine returns to action this Wednesday, Mar. 26 when they host Defiance at 5:00 p.m. in Fred Zollner Athletic Stadium.
