Women's Lacrosse Adds Belote to Coaching Staff

ANGOLA, Ind.-- The Trine women's lacrosse team has added John Belote to the coaching staff, the team announced Friday.

Belote will serve as an assistant coach, specializing in coaching Trine's goalies. Belote brings over 30 years of lacrosse coaching experience to the Thunder women's lacrosse program. He most-recently served as women's lacrosse head coach at Indiana Tech, leading the Warriors during the 2015 season. He also spent time coaching goalies for the Indiana Tech men's program while at the school.

Belote previously spent time as the head coach at Homestead High School in Fort Wayne and earned the 2006 Indiana High School Coach of the Year honor. While at Homestead,  his teams won two State Consolation Tournaments.

Belote is also the co-founder of Summit City Lacrosse, which organizes leagues as well as middle school camps. He has worked with the YMCA to organize elementary school camps to teach kids the game of lacrosse. 

Originally from Florida, Belote played collegiate lacrosse for the University of Tennessee.
