Women's Lacrosse Team earns Academic Honor

GRAND LAKE, Colo.-- The Trine women's lacrosse team has been recognized by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association as a 2015 Academic Honor Squad.

The IWLCA Academic Honor Squad is made up of teams that submit a cumulative team GPA of 3.0 or better. This the second-consecutive year the Thunder have earned that distinction. Team members Sarah Fowler (Bowling Green, Ohio/Otsego), Bailey Brown (Sheridan, Ind./Westfield) and Hunter Johnson (Millbury, Ohio/Lake) were returning members who earned recognition on the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Honor Roll.

Overall, the IWLCA recongized 265 schools across all NCAA Divisions and NAIA as Academic Honor Squads. Trine was one of 129 NCAA Division III schools to earn the distinction, putting the Thunder in the top 48 percent of of the division in academic performance.

The IWLCA is a membership-led nonprofit association representing the nation's intercollegiate women's lacrosse coaches within Division I, II & III of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).

Trine concluded the 2015 season with a 4-8 overall record and finished 1-7 in MIAA play.
