ANGOLA, Ind.-- The Trine women's lacrosse team has released its 2016 schedule, the team announced Monday.
The season opens with five-straight road contests, beginning with a trip to face Hanover Mar. 10. The Thunder will also face Transylvania as part of the team's spring-break road trip. Trine saw a three-win improvement between the 2014 and 2015 campaigns. The Thunder had two performers recognized on the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association's Academic Honor Roll. The team will be looking to continue its upward trend in 2016.
All four of Trine's nonconference games will come on the road. In addition to its spring-break trip to face two opponents, the Thunder will also travel to Franklin and Wilmington (Ohio). Trine earned a victory over Wilmington in last season's meeting. The Thunder will be facing the other three nonconference opponents for the first time.
The MIAA schedule includes all four of Trine's home games. The home-opener comes Saturday, Apr. 9 with a 1 p.m. contest against Kalamazoo. The Thunder will also host Hope, Albion and Alma. The final two opponents will be the final two regular-season games of the year.
Road trips in conference play include Calvin, Saint Mary's, Adrian and Olivet. Trine finished eighth in the MIAA last year.
