Thunder Drop MIAA Contest to Hornets

Angola, Ind. – Trine's women's lacrosse team fell to Kalamazoo 12-0 in a MIAA conference game Saturday afternoon at Fred Zollner Athletic Stadium.

Amanda Moss scored five goals to lead the Hornets scoring efforts. Cecilia DiFranco contributed the offense with her two goals and two assists. Trine fell to 0-6 on the season and 0-2 in MIAA play. Kalamazoo improved to 2-6 and 1-0 in MIAA play.

Caity Rose (Hamilton, Ind. / Hamilton) had 13 saves on the day. This is Rose's fourth game with 10 or more saves on the year.

The Hornets totaled 30 shots on the afternoon. Kalamazoo held a 22-17 edge in ground balls.

Whitney Shaffer (Tipton, Ind. / Tri-Central) had a career high in forced turnovers with four. Kayla Tracy (Temperance, Mich. / Bedford) also had a career high in forced turnovers with three.

Trine will return to action Tuesday, April 12 as they will travel to Saint Mary's College for a MIAA conference game. The game is scheduled to start at 5 p.m.
