ANGOLA, Ind. --The Trine women's lacrosse team was defeated by NCAA Division II foe Ursuline, 20-2, Sunday afternoon in Fred Zollner Athletic Stadium.
Maddie Kipp, Abigail Neeley and Cydney Bartlett each scored three times to lead the Arrows. Neeley and Bartlett each added an assist. Anne Mammel (Tecumseh, Mich. / Tecumseh) and Laura Rosekrans (Williamston, Mich. / Williamston) scored goals for the Thunder. Each player added two ground balls and two draw controls. Trine fell to 2-4 overall. Ursuline improved to 3-3.
Elena Gallego (Norwalk, Calif. / Santa Fe) notched a team-high five draw controls for the Thunder. Audrey Poteet (Indianapolis, Ind. / Ben Davis) made 14 saves in net.
Twelve different players scored overall for the Arrows. Natalie Nowicki also notched a four-point effort with two goals and two assists. She added a team-high five ground balls. Ursuline held a 42-9 advantage in shots and a 17-11 edge in ground balls. Lauren Cole earned the victory in net with three saves in 30 minutes of action.
Trine returns to action with its final non-conference game of the year Sunday, April 2 at Franklin. Game time is scheduled for 2 p.m.
