Gallego Scores Six Goals as Women's Lacrosse Falls at Franklin

FRANKLIN, Ind.—The Trine women's lacrosse team dropped a 19-10 game at Franklin on Sunday afternoon.

Trine moves to 2-5 overall, while Franklin improved to 2-2.

Elena Gallego (Norwalk, Calif./Santa Fe) led the Thunder with six goals on nine shots. Bailey Brown (Sheridan, Ind./Westfield) and Laura Rosekrans (Williamston, Mich./Williamston) each added two goals.

Audrey Poteet (Indianapolis, Ind./Ben Davis) made 13 saves in net for the Thunder.

Franklin was led by Lexi Ingram with six goals and one assist. Hannah Grow added four goals, while Morgan McIntosh and Jess Silva each scored three. Kayanna Wolter made six saves earning the win for the Grizzlies.

Gallego put the Thunder on the board first 2:16 into the first half when she scored off a free position shot. Franklin bounced back to take an 11-4 lead into half time. Gallego scored three goals in the first half, and Brown added one.

Gallego once against scored the first goal of the second half. The Grizzlies edged out the Thunder in scoring 8-6 in the second.

The Thunder completed seven of its eight clear attempts in the game.

Trine opens Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play on April 5 when it will travel to Kalamazoo for a 7 p.m. contest.
