Gallego Scores Three Goals in Women’s Lacrosse Loss to Saint Mary’s

ANGOLA, Ind.—The Trine women's lacrosse team dropped an Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association contest to Saint Mary's, 20-4, on Saturday afternoon.

Trine moves to 2-7 overall and 0-2 in MIAA play. Saint Mary's improved to 5-5 and 2-0 in conference action.

Elena Gallego (Norwalk, Calif./Santa Fe)  led the Thunder with three goals, while Lilly Dusek (Zionsville, Ind./Zionsville) scored her first career goal. Gallego scored two of her tallies off free position attempts. Audrey Poteet (Indianapolis, Ind./Ben Davis) made 16 saves in net for Trine. Poteet moves into second place in the Trine record books with 138 saves this season.

The Belles were led by Mary Singler and Kendra Osinski with four goals each. Kate Kelly added three goals. Singler also added four assists. Cara Givens earned the win in net for the Belles.

The Thunder will return to action on April 11 when they will travel to Hope for a 1 p.m. contest.
