HOLLAND, Mich.—The Trine women's lacrosse team dropped a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest at Hope on Tuesday evening, 19-1.
Trine moves to 2-8 overall and 0-3 against the MIAA. Hope improves to 5-4 overall and 3-0 in conference action.
Elena Gallego (Norwalk, Calif./Santa Fe) scored the Thunders' lone goal midway through the first half. Khrystyna Thompson (Fort Wayne, Ind./Blackhawk Christian) and Laura Rosekrans (Williamston, Mich./Williamston) each had four ground balls for the Thunder, while Gallego and Bailey Brown (Sheridan, Ind./Westfield) notched three apiece. Audrey Poteet (Indianapolis, Ind./Ben Davis) had 12 saves in net for Trine.
The Flying Dutch were led by Emily Deane and Alexandria Webb with four goals each. Dana Kym, Erin Caton, and Madeline Shupe each had three goals. Alexandria Watts earned the win in net making six saves.
The Thunder returns home this weekend when they will play host to Adrian for a 1 p.m. game.
