KENOSHA, WIS. -- The Trine University women's lacrosse team was defeated by host Carthage College by the score of 20-2.

The Lady Reds pulled out to the early lead, scoring the first five goals of the contest and the Thunder were unable to work their way back into the game.

Freshman Kristin John (South Bend, Ind. / St. Joe's) put the Trine on the board with just under 22 minutes remaining in the first half. The goal, her 16th of the season, solidifies her hold as the player with the second most goals on the team.

The team's second and final goal of the contest came just four minutes later when sophomore Lauren Hall (Hartford City, Ind. / Blackford) tallied her second of the season. Senior Rebecca Plantz (DeWitt, Mich. / DeWitt) added an assist on the goal, raising her season total to a team-high five.

Freshman Emily Morthorst (Fort Wayne, Ind. / Homestead) got her first start in goal for the Thunder and recorded the loss for the team.

Trine will take the field again on Wednesday, March 28, when they travel to Mount St. Joseph University for a 5:30 p.m. contest.
