Women's Lacrosse Stumbles at Adrian

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Trine University women's lacrosse team stumbled as they traveled to face Adrian College, dropping the contest 16-6. 

The game started with the two teams trading goals in the third minute of play. Adrian struck first with sophomore Kristin John (South Bend, Ind. / St. Joe's) responding for the Thunder. Classmate Kristen Nguyen (Locust Grove, Ga. / Luella) added the assist on the score.

For the rest of the period, the Bulldogs scored three for every one of Trine's goals. John and Nguyen each scored one more in the period and the Thunder entered the intermission down 7-3.

Trine added three more goals in the second, with junior Lilly Dusek (Zionsville, Ind. / Zionsville) and freshman Theresa DiMaggio (Shelby Township, Mich. / Henry Ford II) joining Nguyen in each tallying one.

Adrian scored nine in the half and came away with the win 16-6.

Following the loss the Thunder drop to 4-7 overall and 0-3 in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play. The team will return home to face Alma College on Saturday, April 13. Opening draw is scheduled for 1 p.m.
