Women's Lacrosse Handles Comets

OLIVET, Mich. – In a contest that was never in doubt the Trine University women's lacrosse team defeated host Olivet College by the score of 22-3.

The Thunder scored the first three goals of the contest and never looked back taking a 12-2 lead into halftime. They would add ten more in the second half to take the victory 22-3.

Sophomore Kristin John (South Bend, Ind. / St. Joe's) led the way for Trine finishing the game with seven points including four goals and three assists.

Two other members of the Thunder finished the game with four goals. Freshman Peri Darmofal (Fort Wayne, Ind. / Homestead) finished the game with five points including her four goals and an assist and senior Lauren Hall (Hartford City, Ind. / Blackford) came away with four goals as well.

Junior Bailey Goodwin (Fort Wayne, Ind. / Carroll) and sophomore Shea Rayburn (Attica, Ind. / Attica) were the final two members of Trine to finish with multiple goals as each notched two in the game.

The Thunder improve to 6-7 overall and 2-3 in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play following the lopsided victory. They will continue their season by hosting Kalamazoo College on Saturday, April 20. The game will be their final home contest of the season and will begin at 1 p.m.
