Quakers Shake Down Women's Lacrosse

RICHMOND, Ind. -- The Trine University women's lacrosse team held a lead near halftime but fell to host Earlham College 14-11.

The first half of the contest was a back and forth affair with both teams holding leads in the half. Trine took a 7-6 lead with just over ten minutes remaining in the half but entered the intermission trailing 9-7.

The Quakers built on that lead to start the second half and then held off the Thunder for the 14-11 win.

Sophomore Chloe Vruno (Geneva, Ill. / St. Francis) led the way offensively for Trine finishing the contest with three goals. Both sophomore Peri Darmofal (Fort Wayne, Ind. / Homestead) and freshman Ella Dougherty (Lowell, Mich. / Lowell) finished the game with two.

The Thunder fall to 0-3 following the loss. They will travel to face Clear University in their next match which is scheduled to take place on Friday, March 6. Opening draw is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
